The Scappoose High School Jazz Band is a musical ensemble that develops advanced instrumental skills in jazz performance and creative improvisation. Students play a variety of styles of jazz, including Latin, funk, pop, swing and more. Performances in this class include “State” level festivals and competitions, evening band concerts and a variety of community events, as well as in and out-of-state band trips. Jazz education fosters musical creativity, critical listening skills, and teamwork.
